Delaware Homes and Land for Sale

Located near the heart of Ohio is a city called Delaware. It’s the county seat of Delaware County, and it has a population of approximately 38,000 residents. This city is home to Ohio Wesleyan University, a prestigious university that’s also a member of the Five Colleges of Ohio, a group of Ohio-based private liberal arts schools. Delaware is about 30 miles from Columbus, Ohio, so if you happen to work in the capital city, you don’t have to worry about a long commute because the trip takes about half an hour by car. You can also access it via public transportation if you can’t or don’t want to drive there.

Delaware is a large haven for shopping, arts, and culture, particularly in its downtown area. Check out Downtown Delaware’s Farmer’s Market. It’s held from May to October on Wednesday afternoons and Saturday mornings. You can buy baked goods, fresh produce, flowers and even craft items like handmade pottery and soap. Are you a fan of stars (the celestial kind, not the movie kind)? Ohio Wesleyan University runs the Perkins Observatory, an astronomical observatory that’s been in existence since the 1920s. It has lectures, telescope events, a library filled with astronomical programs and more. Go spelunking in the Olentangy Indian Caverns. These caves and passages were once used by the Wyandotte Indians to hide from their enemies, the Delaware Indians, and to shelter themselves from inclement weather. The Olentangy Indian Caverns also offers activities like miniature golf, gem mining and a petting zoo. Besides Ohio Wesleyan University, Delaware boasts of 13 other schools: five elementary schools, two middle schools, one high school, three private schools for kindergarten through 12th-grade students, one vocational school and a graduate school dedicated to theological education.

The majority of residences here were built during the mid/late 20th century, and most of them have three bedrooms.
